United Miners Soccer Club “Rudar” welcomes you to our new website!

Please feel free to browse and learn about our history, restaurant, soccer team and upcoming events.

Our club was established in 1977 –  primarily for soccer. The majority of our founders are from Labin, a small Istrian town, where mining was a major part of life.  Even some of our founders worked in the mines before moving to the United States.  For these two reasons we are named United Miners Soccer Club or, simply, Rudar (meaning  coal  miner).

As you see, through time, besides soccer and hunting, we have established a folklore group in which we have young singers who successfully contribute to our Croatian community in New York.

Our restaurant, which serves our Istrian and Dalmatian specialties is very popular amongst our Croatian immigration here in New York and surrounding areas. Our menu always brings you back “home”. Our chefs Marijana Matteoni and Suzana Nemarić will prepare dishes just like Nona and Mama made. From home-made Fuži and Njoki, to grilled fresh fish and vegetables, prepared to taste.

Our friendly wait staff, Bego, Tina, and Emilio, will be happy to help you with your choice of food! Ines,our bartender, is  ready with your choice of beverage!
